Women's Caucus for the Arts Exhibit Opening Today!

Hello Everyone, listed below is an art opening-TODAY-at Boricua College...not much notice, however I have, after many decades found that last minute often works as well as the appropriate "due notice". I have one piece in this exhibit (see image below). I submitted two, and interestingly enough, although both were accepted, one was "censored" by the college. I am posting the one accepted. Censorship is a form of secrecy by the powers that be.

All the violent people

With toys of fire,

Permitted to destroy,

to maim,

to hurt,

the innocent.

On a street corner,

In front of a home,

In a movie theater,

In a school.

One child kills another; its in the news.…

Canst thou not minister to a mind diseased,

Pluck from the memory a rooted sorrow,

Raze out the written troubles of the brain

And with some sweet oblivious antidote …

Finally - you no longer have to schlep all the way downtown for a life drawing class.

Great drawing requires not only practice, focus, and hand-eye coordination, but the same sort of physical self awareness as playing the violin, or shooting baskets.   ----Take your drawing to the next level.…

Bluey Obit

“Bluey,” Inwood Icon, Laid to Rest at Age 31

“Bluey,” a 1982 Honda Civic, will be laid to rest on July 31, 2012, following a ceremony in upper Manhattan, NY. Bluey—so named by the young son of Mr. Ettling’s downstairs neighbors—was lovingly owned and driven for 30 years by Harry Ettling, a jazz musician and long-time Inwood resident.

‘Born’ in the fall of 1981, Bluey was purchased new by Mr. Ettling’s girlfriend at the time, Ms. Lucy Smith, originally of…

Dear Friends, As an artist, lawyer, and political activist, I have been working to integrate knowing/feeling and the personal/political. There will be a Closing Party, Tuesday, July 31, 7-9 PM featuring The…
