Hello Everyone, I have a piece in the NoMAA Women's in the Heights Exhibit. Opening Tonight. I always forget to post my own postings till maybe, like now, the last minute. My piece is called Emergence. I intended to include 6 photographs depicting the various components lying around in my studio, till my eye, over time, or sometimes just in a mornings visit, collects them. Thus the piece itself speaks to emergence and the photos illustrate how they flew into being. However, I decided not to…

I had the opportunity to see the New York Theatre Workshop staging of Once, a play based on the John Carney film starring Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. I went in thinking it unusual for an adaptation to buck the more typical play-to-film route. It turns out lots of films turn into plays (if you don’t believe me, look…

HI...I know I posted this in the events section, but I just want to make sure that it gets seen and don't know who checks what. I have four pieces in it, many of them on line here, so, there won't be many surprises regarding my work, but I know some of the other artists and expect this to be a very interesting show. I recommend reading the "galleries mission" statement on line at www.SPACEWOMb.com.

187th. Street Gallery Project presents:
Michael L. Johnson, A Mini-Retrospective:Paintings from 1980 to 2011
Artists Unite has been meeting the challenge of Upper Manhattan’s lack of gallery space by developing it’s “Creative Venues” program to increase artists opportunity to exhibit and to increase the public’s ability to experience art in their lives.

Hi...I have been very moved by an OCW sign that read: Occupy Yourself. After all, that's where it all begins and ends. However, there's always the question HOW? A friend of mine told me I just had to start meditating again, and yes,of course! So, sitting on the A train (190th.) en route to 59th.St., I took out one of my favorite books by A.Krishnamurti and within one stop became lulled by his words and the train and wrote...now I usually just rhyme, it's a kid thing, but this came out…

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that our server company needs to perform some simple but necessary maintenance on the Artists Unite Member Network this coming Friday, December 2nd. We’ll need to take the site down from 1am-2am EST. During these 2 hours, we’ll simply show a message asking folks to check back later. Thanks in advance for your patience while we tune up the site!

Hello Everyone...I have been missing in non-action from the pages of this organization whose founding I initiated. Tonight, after coming in from a most bizarre invasion of little people dressed as all kinds of big people in Fort Tryon Park's Children's Halloween Parade, I allowed myself the leisure of hanging out on our website and am very impressed with the work posted and look forward to to connecting and working together with more of you.
And because a blog is a blog is a blog, I…
