A WILD BERGAMOT WAS OBSERVED IN INWOOD PARK UPPER MANHATTAN, ON JULY 26, 2009. THIS MUCH IS CERTAIN.
DAILY NEWSPAPERS REPORTED AN ATAVISTIC APPARITION RUNNING THROUGH THE PARK. THAT WAS INCORRECT. BIGFOOT DOESN'T VENTURE THIS FAR SOUTH IN THE SUMMER. THE WILD BERGAMOT IS A PLANT.

Most -- not all -- of the twitter follows I have done have proven less than satisfactory. I think the format is just too concise. The nonprofits seem to use it too much; friends are very cryptic; the Dalai Lama doesn't tweet enough (can I say that?!).

It was around this time of year, and I was walking on a gentle mountain trail with my absolute favorite person. Yes, I'll admit I have favorites. Happily, it's a long list, and if you're here reading this, you're on it.
