THE WILD BERGAMOT

A WILD BERGAMOT WAS OBSERVED IN INWOOD PARK UPPER MANHATTAN, ON JULY 26, 2009. THIS MUCH IS CERTAIN.

DAILY NEWSPAPERS REPORTED AN ATAVISTIC APPARITION  RUNNING THROUGH THE PARK. THAT WAS INCORRECT. BIGFOOT DOESN'T VENTURE THIS FAR SOUTH IN THE SUMMER. THE WILD BERGAMOT IS A PLANT.

imagine yoko

Most -- not all -- of the twitter follows I have done have proven less than satisfactory. I think the format is just too concise. The nonprofits seem to use it too much; friends are very cryptic; the Dalai Lama doesn't tweet enough (can I say that?!).

Yoko Ono's tweets have proven a welcome exception. I am enjoying her posts enough that I followed a link to her weekly Q&A, where she answers a dozen questions posed to her via twitter through the week. Here's the link to this… Continue

Don't Bring Me Down

It was around this time of year, and I was walking on a gentle mountain trail with my absolute favorite person. Yes, I'll admit I have favorites. Happily, it's a long list, and if you're here reading this, you're on it.

It's wonderful how walking activates the mind as if the legs were cog cranks specifically designed to directly engage those tired cranial gears. Being fall, I was less intent on noticing the birds, and started talking about ideas that were surfacing, wondering what… Continue
