Subway Poster Project

Hi...it's either early or late, i've been up since 3:00 AM...after a long nap trying to get the word out...again...and finally, we are having a 'hood party to celebrate What? _ Our (Artists Unite) almost decade long effort to get some art into the subways...this is the second set of posters, 6 each, one per elevator of original art from Washington Heights/Inwood artists. The other posters in the elevators are from MTA's stock in their Arts-In-Transit Program. This may seem like a small "thing":… Continue

Not So Fan-tastic

Things handmade and handwritten have a special appeal to me -- perhaps it's something about the humanness of their imperfection and scale. Who doesn't like to find a real letter in the mailbox amidst the stack of bills and solicitations? Postmarked from France, I turned the envelope over in my hands and opened it with curiosity.

Written on stationery imprinted with two pretty leaves in the upper left and a return address of "Suzanne Lopez, 1 rue du 11 Novembre, 64340 Boucau France,"… Continue

are you going to enter the art prize competition?

by now I think most people have heard of the great Grand Rapids, Michigan http://www.artprize.org/http://www.artprize.org/.

These kinds of things always have us scratching our heads and trading emails with subjects along the lines of 'are you going to do this?'

What do you think of this kind of outlet for your work? What about competitions in general, where you're often…

Rainbows Don't Wait

The past few months have been pretty much non-stop with work and all sorts of excitement, but I'm happy to at long last have a moment to stop here and say hello, and happy spring!

The day after my solo show at June Kelly Gallery ended, I was on a plane to Italy for a month-long residency fellowship at the… Continue

Broken Souls (Book/screenplay)

Broken Souls is a screenplay that was adapted from the book of my true life story entitled, " The Torment’s of the Modest, Secluded Farm Life".

I attended private school and was constantly under pressure from my strict parents who believed that being "sheltered" from the world was the only way to live a pure and healthy life. I was repressed in everything that I did as I grew up in that environment. I was never exposed to any of the realities that most children of today can see by just… Continue
