Dance Festival, Bytom Poland

For those of you interested in dance, I'm writing a bit about the XV Annual Dance Conference and Performance Festival in Bytom Poland at DNA World, including some of my dance photos (there's a first time for everything). Here are some of the non-dance visual highlights (caveat that they're straight out of the camera so far).

Poland: Warsaw

Wendy and I started our visit to Poland with 24 hours in Warsaw and made a good visit with the curator of the Center for Contemporary art. There was a really good exhibit of a Polish artist who lived much of his life in London. He and his wife were better known as writers: the Themersons, Stefan and Francziczka. His visual art consisted of really unique photograms, some of which he created using structure made of a sheet of glass for holding objects with room for a camera below. Here… Continue

musicians will be provided to accompany the storyteller. There will be three 20 - 30 minute presentations during the day

Don't miss this amazing description of artists in America from the New York Times. According to the latest U.S. census, "artist" is one of the biggest professions in the country, responsible for huge amounts of income and covering everything from modern dancer to architect.

Macbeth travels from Poland to Brooklyn

St. Ann's Warehouse is producing an all-out and quite astounding, graphic version of Mabceth, which opens next week. Oh, and did I mention that it's in Polish?
