Hello Everyone...I have been missing in non-action from the pages of this organization whose founding I initiated. Tonight, after coming in from a most bizarre invasion of little people dressed as all kinds of big people in Fort Tryon Park's Children's Halloween Parade, I allowed myself the leisure of hanging out on our website and am very impressed with the work posted and look forward to to connecting and working together with more of you.
And because a blog is a blog is a blog, I want to post a few non-sequiturs. Below is the first collective statement from the original OccupyWall Street encampment. I rejoice in its call to challenge the pervasive lies.
"We come to you at a time when corporations, which
place profit over people, self-interest over justice,
and oppression over equality, run our governments. We
have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let
these facts be known."
And: I want to add something I wrote a few weeks ago while thinking I was being remiss in spending too much time placing one thing next to another to please me.
Beauty is a sacred thing
It rounds the heart
To make it sing_
And opens space
To feel life’s grace.
In tiny steps of light.
I am a kingdom of my own
Inclusive of all that’s been born
I hold the scepter and the scythe
And cherish everything alive
And when my mind retreats
I kiss these words of Keats:
“Truth is beauty and beauty is truth,
that is all ye know and need know on earth”.
thank you. rosa
