I'm from New Orleans originally and I spent 4 years in Japan in the early 90's before moving to New York in 1997 to pursue writing and film making. My short documentary "Matisyahu" on the Hasidic Rapper/Reggae artist of the same name has been to over 50 film festivals and won numerous awards. My first feature, a documentary on 8 WWII veteran artists, called "Art in the Face of War" was completed in 2006 and won Best Doc at the Connecticut Film Festival that winter and the Special Jury Prize at the Newport Film Festival in 2007.
