- Chitra Ramanathan's unique body of paintings portray happiness as a visual entity with a formless form" as described by the artist. An established painter and art educator, her work has been exhibited in Chicago and Broadway New York in solo and group exhibitions since 1994, earning praise from critics as well receiving commissions to create site-specific public art installations. Examples of permanent public art commissions include the MGM Mirage to create a pair of large paintings on permanent display in the Bellagio Conservatory indoor botanical garden of the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas since 2004 and a 13.8 ft wall mural in the lobby of Crooked Creek Elementary School, Marion County, Indianapolis in 2008
