- Betty T. Kao is an artist and writer, integrating both mediums as tools for storytelling. She is interested in how artists use images to voice the collective subconscious. Betty is a visual storyteller exploring anthropomorphic objects, toys, packaging, metaphysics, mythology, Asian culture, sacred plants, healers, and medicine. Betty is a visual storyteller. Her work explores the mythologies and memes of our culture. The mixed-media nature of her work relates to how she interprets her surroundings in relation to herself. She was raised in New York City. Her award winning art and writing have been featured in various publications including The NuyorAsian Anthology: Asian American Writings About New York City and The New York Observer.
