Sydny Drum, "(SD/WP148), Phoenix Gallery 5/22-6/15/13

My interest in color inspires my paintings on paper, featured in this exhibition at the Phoenix Gallery, as well as my other artworks. These paintings on paper use narrow white lines to grid vertical bars of vivid hues. They examine a broad range of colors purely in abstract form. The works use complex arrangements of pigments and often vivid oppositions. These works explore chemical resists, both in oils and in acrylics.
