Emergence

This is a series of photographs depicting the "emergence" of the "Emergence" sculpture. Each photo shows where one of the elements lived.Then one day they called out to be with each other. None of the studio photos show the vice since it was not originally part of the piece. I only used it to hold the birds in place while the adhesive dried. Seeing it the next day, I realized that the vice belonged. The birds were poised to fly, the vice committed to holding them back.

The photo with the colored pencil is a playful relief from what I had discovered about myself.
