Event Description

Meredith Trede, Margo Stever, Elaine Sexton, Sheila Maldonado (moderator). Poets and chapbook publishing professionals will discuss the importance in contemporary poetry of the "short" collection, a book form that has a special role to play as poets begin to find their audiences. Topics will include: what makes an award-winning chapbook, tips on preparing your manuscript, mistakes to watch out for when submitting your work, how to sense which chapbook publishers/editors might be receptive...And more. Q & A will follow. This panel discussion is an event of the Washington Heights Chapbook Festival, which is a collaboration of the Sunday Best Reading Series, the Fort Washington Branch of the New York Public Library, and the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance. It is part of the Art Stroll. www.artstroll.com Admission to the event is FREE.
