Please join Artists Unite this coming Tuesday, October 8, 5:30-7:30 PM for the Opening Reception of “Points of Departure: Paintings of Fort Tryon Park” by Marc Solomon.
(show on from 10/8-11/29 2013)
Marc is an uncompromising painter who can be seen working in Fort Tryon Park throughout the year and throughout all weather. His work references pointillism with a modern eye, illuminating the familiar and creating abstract forms with delicate points of light.
“I am now determined to paint as complete a panorama of a complex of spaces as I can encompass from a single point of view. In the pursuit of this goal, I use small touches of color to avoid loosing my place as I draw and to help overcome the distinction between figure and ground in rendering the tones of the scene. It amounts to arriving at clarity by other means." Marc Solomon
Berkshire Bank is part of our 187th. Street Gallery Project providing a wonderful light filled and open space better than many galleries. This is our third year of mounting exhibits and your support will help us continue to do so.
All AU Network members residing in the Wash.Hts/Inwood area may submit work for future exhibits. For more info: Contact me, rosa@artistsunite-ny.org
