what we've all wanted to say...

Holland Cotter, in his story The Boom Is Over. Long Live the Art! (New York Times, Feb 12) tells us what we've known all along: the art market has been one big, self-serving, economic frenzy. He thinks the coming crash is going to help art (the content). I'll drink to that.

After reading Damon Krukowski's review in Art Forum of Brian Eno's latest venture in atmospheric composition, I rushed right over to the iPhone Apps store and bought my very own copy of Bloom. Bloom is an interactive compositional piece by Eno and Peter Chilvers made exclusively for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Quincy Jones has started a petition to ask President-Elect Obama to appoint a Secretary of the Arts. While many other countries have had Ministers of Art or Culture for centuries, The United States has never created such a position.
