THE HOODUDES @ the UPTOWN Arts Stroll Opening: May 31 @ 7:15 PM @ United Palace Theater 175th.St. @ Broadway

The Hoodudes with Harry Ettling on guitar, Tim Harrison on piano, Steve Alcott on bass, Grisha Alexiev on drums and Diana Herold on percussion. A great opportunity to hear a great band in a great venue and most of the band actually lives in the 'hood, although the band name actually references VooDoo and New Orleans music. …

Women In The Heights Opening Tonight, March 8, 6-8PM: NoMAA

Hello Everyone, I have a piece in the NoMAA Women's in the Heights Exhibit. Opening Tonight. I always forget to post my own postings till maybe, like now, the last minute. My piece is called Emergence. I intended to include 6 photographs depicting the various components lying around in my studio, till my eye, over time, or sometimes just in a mornings visit, collects them. Thus the piece itself speaks to emergence and the photos illustrate how they flew into being. However, I decided not to…

SPACEWOMb Group Show Friday, 12/16 6-8PM (incl.me)

HI...I know I posted this in the events section, but I just want to make sure that it gets seen and don't know who checks what. I have four pieces in it, many of them on line here, so, there won't be many surprises regarding my work, but I know some of the other artists and expect this to be a very interesting show. I recommend reading the "galleries mission" statement on line at www.SPACEWOMb.com.

SPACEWOMb Gallery is proud to present…

Occupy Myself : Face to Face Construction

Hi...I have been very moved by an OCW sign that read: Occupy Yourself. After all, that's where it all begins and ends. However, there's always the question HOW? A friend of mine told me I just had to start meditating again, and yes,of course! So, sitting on the A train (190th.) en route to 59th.St., I took out one of my favorite books by A.Krishnamurti and within one stop became lulled by his words and the train and wrote...now I usually just rhyme, it's a kid thing, but this came out…

Hello Everyone...I have been missing in non-action from the pages of this organization whose founding I initiated. Tonight, after coming in from a most bizarre invasion of little people dressed as all kinds of big people in Fort Tryon Park's Children's Halloween Parade, I allowed myself the leisure of hanging out on our website and am very impressed with the work posted and look forward to to connecting and working together with more of you.

And because a blog is a blog is a blog, I…

Hi...I meant to post a while back that I have a piece in the current NoMAA (http://www.nomaanyc.org)"Women In The Heights: Perspectives" Exhibit, still on till April 30th, and of course, the course of things got away from me. Roe V. Wade

Hi...looks like Roe.v Wade is under even more intense attack...and "they" even want to redefine rape in order to limit abortions that have been begrudgingly allowed. Please check out the site below.

Subway Poster Project

Hi...it's either early or late, i've been up since 3:00 AM...after a long nap trying to get the word out...again...and finally, we are having a 'hood party to celebrate What? _ Our (Artists Unite) almost decade long effort to get some art into the subways...this is the second set of posters, 6 each, one per elevator of original art from Washington Heights/Inwood artists. The other posters in the elevators are from MTA's stock in their Arts-In-Transit Program. This may seem like a small "thing":… Continue

Words:

Hello, I am a little nervous, well, not nervous, just concerned that, well, I'm going public with "chatter" that may not matter. Oh, for those of you who know me a little, I am somewhat uncontrollable re: rhyming. If I had grown up in an other decade, or two, I know I'd be rapping.

I am right now here in Florida, if I were home, nyc, (the usual me) I probably would not feel justified in sending postcards from my room, but, now on Vacation, well, at least I can say the weather is sunny,… Continue
