DESCRIPTION:This is the third in a series of exhibits by members of Th
 e Northern Manhattan Photography Group (NoMa Photo). In this exhibit, 
 veteran professional and emerging photographers explore the economic l
 andscape in an exhibit of images ranging from street photography to hi
 gh-concept.\n\n“Economy” runs July 8-22, 2009 at The City College 
 of New York’s Compton-Goethals Gallery, in Compton-Goethals Hall (CG
 134), Amsterdam Avenue between 139th and 140th Streets.\n\nThe group l
 ast exhibited in 2008 at Compton-Goethals Gallery in an show entitled 
 “Vague Terrain: Manhattanville.” Many photos in the current exhibi
 t were also taken on location: some in Northern Manhattan (Washington 
 Heights and Inwood) and others throughout New York City.\n\nOpening re
 ception is Wednesday, July 8, 6-9 pm; exhibit hours are Mondays throug
 h Wednesdays, 10 am – 5 pm and Thursdays, 10 am – 7 pm. Attendees 
 who register will be eligible to win a free print of the exhibit icon,
  “Fractured,” by Dawn K. Chase. The gallery is wheelchair accessib
 le.\n\nExhibiting artists include fine art photographers Dawn K. Chase
  (whose fractured penny is the exhibit icon), Christopher Auger-Domín
 guez, Greg Brophy, Robert Cain, Simeon Gilmer, Eliud Martinez, Artists
  Unite, Inc. director Peter Ferko; concert/landscape photographer and 
 activist Maggie Clarke; freelancer Tom Stoelker; designer Caren Lither
 land and and emerging photographer RoughAcres/RL McKee, whose work on 
 the subject has appeared in WNYC’s online exhibit, “Uncommon Econo
